Sewing Machine 201 Spring Break Camp for Teens – Garment Focused – Drawstring Pouch, Boxy Shirt No. 1 + Free Range Pants – Monday to Friday, March 25th to 29th, 2:45pm – 5:45pm

Befriending a sewing machine has never been easier! Our Sewing 201 classes will help your Teen expand their sewing knowledge with an extra focus on garment sewing! Perfect for students who have some sewing experience, this class will start at the beginning and cover good practices for threading, stitching and cutting fabric. Once they’ve become acquainted with the ins and outs of sewing, we will apply these skills to construct a Drawstring Pouch, Boxy Shirt No 1. and a pair for Free Range Pants with pockets.

At the end of this class, the students will have created some beautiful, wearable projects! Not only will they impress you with their handmade projects, they will have the skills to make many more!

Age: Teen, ages 12 and older

Time: 15 hours, 5 sessions

Skill level: Advanced Beginner

Prerequisites: Sewing Machine 101 Teen Camp or equivalent sewing experience. Students are somewhat comfortable using a sewing machine with an understanding of some basic sewing terms.

Skills Learned:

  • Sewing machine basics (threading, winding a bobbin, backstitching, etc.)
  • Basic construction + terminology
  • Good practices for sewing
  • How to find your size for a sewing pattern
  • Tips and tricks for working with a commercial pattern
  • Finishing a neckline with bias binding
  • Hemming
  • Elastic Waistbands

We accept returns on non-sale items that are in original packaging, unused, and unwashed within 30 days of receipt. Please follow our returns/exchanges process below.
